El Premio Mayor, Suavecito and Dos Mujeres, Un Camino. These are just some of the hit songs and widely received telenovelas that Laura León is responsible for. The mother of two is also known for her work on the big screen in a number of projects. This year marks a huge milestone as the sultry Mexicana celebrates 30 years in showbiz. And what better way to celebrate than on the road? Ms. León is teaming up with Club Papi and Granda Entertainment for a six city exclusive gay tour. I recently had a chance to get up close and personal with the multi-talented artist.
Congratulations on 30 wonderful years in showbiz. How does it feel?
I am very happy, thankful to the public and my fans. These have been amazing years of performances and satisfaction.
You’re once again working with Club Papi and Granda Entertainment, only this time it’s for an exclusive gay tour. What can we expect?
A beautiful show with lots of excitement! As always, I’ll be giving it my all so that everyone can enjoy my music. It will be an intimate show with my fans that I love so much
Ms. León is always looking fierce! I have to know about your outfits for the tour.
I am unpredictable when it comes to my wardrobe, but rest assured that I’ll have a very colorful one. It will be based on how I am feeling the day of the performance.
What message would you like to send to your gay fans?
My love because I admire people that are true and that have beliefs and stick to them. They live and die for what they believe without changing their way of life because they know it is right for them.
She was down here with some other people from her congregation for a funeral...and she dropped by with thTell me something about you that people would be surprised to find out.
When I am stressed, I cannot think clearly. I let my impulses take over and later suffer the consequences. When I realize this, I take control of myself and regain my composure, but I probably already blew it. I have to have one defect!
If you weren’t an entertainer, what would you be doing?
I think that I would be doing some form of art. I would have liked to dedicate myself to sculpting or painting. For sure at some point in my life I will do this.
Who is Laura León when she’s not in the spotlight?
I am a woman that loves to dream and has the desire to live. I take care of myself by exercising a lot and I try to enjoy life as much as I can with my family and friends.
There are so many memorable novellas in which you have starred in. You must have a favorite.
My favorite is “Muchachitas.” It was the story that gave me the opportunity to play one of the characters that is most important to me, being a mother and being able to show the support and understanding that we must give our children
What do you hope to be doing in five years?
The same as always, surrounded by the love and affection of my beloved public, all while giving the best of me.
