Mi certificado de nacimiento dice que cumplí 40 años el verano pasado, pero tengo el alma de un jovencito de 30.

 Tengo raíces latinos de Lares, Puerto Rico (Grito de Lares), pero nací en los EEUU, la primera generación de nacer en Chicago.

 Las metas mías son continuas, un proceso que dura bastante tiempo. Espero graduarme en mayo con dos Bachilleratos: uno en justice studies y el otro Bachelor of Arts Interdisciplinary Studies), espero establecerme en Miami y estudiar derechos (law School). También, si todo me sale como quiero, sacaré mi Comisión como Teniente (Lieutenant) en las fuerzas armadas (US Army Reserve). Y la meta más importante para este año es pasar más tiempo con mi nene Wesley Tyler que hace 10 años atrás llegó a mi vida. Él es la razón por la cual lucho para superarme cada día y trato de ser un hombre y padre Ejemplar con metas.

 Para divertirme, me la paso con mis seres queridos, sobre todo con mi niño, soy un hombre muy familiar, películas o cenas con amistades, tomando clases y bailando flamenco con Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre, jugando mis productos Apple y PS3 con Wesley.

 Desde muy joven deseaba viajar y ver el mundo, la situación financiera de mis padres no lo permitía. Cuando tuve la edad, decidí entrar a La Fuerza Aérea, donde pase varios años, descansé 5 años y me inscribí de nuevo pero en el Army como Policía Militar. Deseaba la forma de Disciplina y los Uniformes. Ser parte de algo grande. Mis Hermanos menores decidieron entrar en la Marina (Marines) y mi hermana en el Army.

Para ganar la vida sigo en el ejército, Army Reserves. Y trabajo con American Airlines como asistente de vuelo. Dos trabajos totalmente diferentes, pero me encanta ser diferente. Sigo mi último semestre en la universidad para mi graduarme en la primavera.

 ¿Cómo me mantengo en forma? Pues Corriendo para arriba y abajo (como padre es algo que nunca cambia), siempre haciendo algo, manteniendo me activo es crucial. Hago ejercicios 3 veces a la semana a veces más, depende de mí horario. Hago cardio, a veces nado, y claro los ejercicios del ejército me mantienen joven.

 Sobre la revocación de DADT diré, que estuve en Afganistán un año durante todo el transmite: enero 2011 a diciembre 2011. Se hablaba mucho de eso pero los chicos y las chicas aun no podían hablar de sus vidas personales. Se reunían grupos privados y grupos por internet como OUTSERVE (que ahora es un Grupo enorme) donde se podían conectar con amigos del mismo ambiente. Hacer amistades en los diferentes puestos de guerra. Una familia extendida. Muchas eran las reuniones de café en Green Bean. Me acuerdo el día que se revocó estaba yo tomando un café solito en el Green Bean y de repente sale una canción muy buena. Y oigo una voz de un soldado un poco afeminada...que grita ¨OH MY GOD, this is my song...I'm so glad I can say that now¨ y saltó en un baile muy Priscilla Queen of the Desert. LOL

 Ahora si ha cambiado mucho. Se permite ser más abierto en ciertas cosas, sobre todo manteniendo un personaje profesional, pero todo con moderación. Muchas reglas han cambiado a favor de la comunidad LGBT.

My birth certificate says I turned 40 this summer, but my soul is that of a 30 year old.

 My Latin roots are from Lares, Puerto Rico yes..."GRITO DE LARES", but I was born in the USA, the first generation born in Chicago.

  My goals in life are continual, an ongoing process. I hope to graduate with 2 Bachelors in May in Justices Studies and the in Interdisciplinary Studies. I hope to continue into Law School here in Miami. I also hope to commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves sometime in 2013, if all goes well. More than anything my biggest goal is to be able to spend more time with my little boy Wesley Tyler whom came into my life 10 years ago. He is the reason I live and breathe. I hope to be a better Man, Father and Role model.

 For fun, I spend time with loved ones, mostly with my son, I am very family oriented, it's in our latin culture. I enjoy movies or dinner with friends and taking Flamenco Classes and reminisce on days dancing with one of the amazing companies in Chicago, Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater. I also can't leave out how I love all my Apple products and playing PS3 with Wesley.

 From an early age I desired to travel and see the world, but due to my family´s finances, I was not able to. When I became older, I decided to enlist in the United States AirForce/Air National Guard. After several years in the service, I took a break for 5 years and then reenlisted into the United States Army/Reserve Component as 31Bravo Military Police. I longed for Discipline and the Uniforms that came from being in the Military. My younger brothers later followed in my footsteps and joined the Marines while my little sister joined the Army Reserves.

 How do I make a living? I am in the Army Reserves and I work for American Airlines as flight Attendant. (We Know Why You Fly). I know to jobs that are extreme opposites. All i can say is I love a good challenge and I love to be different. I will continue my last semester as a Senior at my University with Graduation later in the Spring.

 How do I stay in shape? Well duh! Running back and forth (that never changes with a kid). I always try to stay busy, staying active is crucial. I work out, 3x a week sometimes more depending on my schedule, cardio, swimming, and of course PT (physical training) in the military keep me young.

 What to say about Repeal of DADT? I was deployed doing Detainee Operations for a year in Afghanistan January thru December 2011 during the whole process. It was talked about a lot but even then, men and woman couldn't really talk about their personal lives or sexual orientation. Private groups would gather and a network of soldiers would unite under OUTSERVE once a secret/private group now Open and well known in the media. This was a way to connect with LGB Soldiers, Marines, Navy, Airmen throughout Iraq/Afhanistan and the rest of the world: an extended family making friends in different posts. There were gatherings at the green bean coffee shop to bond. I remember the day the Repeal came to affect I was at the coffee hut alone, and I hear this really good song come on. A slightly effeminate soldier behind me yells out ¨OH MY GOD, This is my Song, I´m so glad I can say that now¨ and he started dancing, in a Priscilla Queen of the Desert kind of way.

Definitely is different now, many military members are open and free to share a part of their lives that they couldn't before: all in moderation and of course maintaining a clean and professional environment and attitude. Many rules have changed in favor of the LGBT community.

 In answer to the million dollar question... I am single
